Amplifiers for dimmers, what they are and what they are for

Each system has its power output, and multiple light sources can be connected to each lighting control device in your spaces.

In dimmable lighting systems, which use dimmers to increase or decrease light intensity, it may also be useful to install dimmer amplifiers, also known as power amplifiers or drivers.

These are electronic devices that allow you to increase a dimmer's capacity by regulating the amount of energy reaching the lamps. This also allows dimmers that are not powerful enough to manage a more demanding lighting load. The final result is a lighting system that always works as we intended and provides us with the desired power for each lighting fixture, giving us the ability to create the right atmosphere in the various rooms of our home, professional studio, or commercial activity.

Amplifiers are useful when multiple lamps are connected to the dimmer, but also in the case of very long LED strips. A simple dimmer, in fact, might not be able to guarantee the same power; with an amplifier, however, the dimmer's performance would be constant.

There are various types of dimmer amplifiers on the market, including those specific for LEDs. At Via Piave or by contacting us through our contact forms, we will be happy to suggest the best one for the characteristics of your lighting system.
