Our homes in recent years have been filled with more and more indoor plants even if not always, in our homes, there is the right amount of light to make them grow strong and luxuriant.
If the natural light that filters through the windows is always the best solution, there are cases in which an artificial reinforcement is needed and, even in this case, LED lights come to our aid, which allow us to help our green roommates in the their growth, without consuming too much electricity and in complete safety.
On the market there are specific lamps, called growlights, which do their job, but for those who love DIY, the strips or small LED panels are a valid support, you just need to know which ones to choose and how and where to apply them.
The light that is needed in these cases is a dimmable light , which can vary and emit different frequencies, mainly red and blue, in such a way that they are absorbed by the chlorophyll to develop photosynthesis and therefore ensure that the plant grows luxuriantly.
The advantages of LEDs in this type of plant cultivation are several:
- emit a uniform light
- they do not heat the air and therefore do not damage the leaves
- they consume little energy
- they are resistant to the humidity that can be created near the plants due to watering
- they are safe
When they are installed it would be preferable to connect them to a timer, to prevent them from staying on all day.
