📐 22 kW three-phase (400 V, 32 A) │ 6 m Type 2 cable │ IP55 / IK08 — 🔧 Installation difficulty: 4/5 │ 🎯 Ideal for: villas with three-phase systems, businesses, and small fleets
FoxESS A-Series 22 kW charging station: maximum AC power with integrated Type 2 cable
Before looking at the price, check your car's onboard charger: only those with a 22 kW three-phase onboard charger (Renault Zoe, Smart EQ, some Teslas, and various commercial vans) can truly utilize 22 kW AC power. On a car with an 11 kW charger, the station will simply output 11 kW. However, it still makes sense to install it in two cases: if you plan to change your car or if the charging point is shared between multiple vehicles, as the A022K distributes power via dynamic load balancing rather than tripping your main breaker.
Technical analysis and advantages
- ⚡ 22 kW on a 400 V three-phase line with 32 A per phase: this is the maximum AC output from a domestic wallbox, compared to the 11 kW of the 16 A version.
- 🔄 Dynamic Load Balancing (DLB and SLB): with the FoxESS meter on an RS485 bus, the charging current adjusts to real-time consumption within a set threshold (adjustable from 10 to 300 A), dropping to a minimum of 6 A before pausing the session. Station mode distributes power among multiple stations connected to the same meter.
- ☀️ Solar charging: Green mode (solar surplus only), Eco mode (solar priority with grid integration), and Fast mode (full power). With a FoxESS inverter, the DTSU666 dual RS485 meter is shared between the inverter and the charging station.
- 🔐 Three start modes: Plug & Play, Mifare ISO/IEC 14443 A RFID card (two cards included, up to 8 can be registered), and FoxSwitch app, with single or weekly scheduled charging.
- 🌐 OCPP 1.6J / 2.0.1 for integration with management and billing platforms: useful if the charging point needs to be accounted for by employees or customers.
- 🛡️ Safety: integrated 6 mA DC residual current detection (IEC 62955), protection against overcurrent, ground fault, overvoltage and undervoltage, and overtemperature. IP55 and IK08 for outdoor installation, operating from -30 °C to +50 °C.

🔄 Expert Advice:
Two things I always check before ordering a 22 kW station. First: the contracted power. With a 6 kW contract, a 22 kW station only makes sense with active dynamic load balancing; otherwise, it will trip the main breaker as soon as the oven is turned on—and balancing requires the FoxESS RS485 meter, which is not included in the box. Second: the residual current device. The station has integrated 6 mA DC residual current detection, so upstream you only need a Type A RCCB compliant with standard IEC 60364 rather than a Type B, which costs significantly more. If installing on a stand rather than a wall, add the dedicated A-Series pole.
Complete your system
- 🔗 Pole for FoxESS A-Series stations — ground installation for yards or driveways, designed for one or two stations.
- 🔗 FoxESS 11 kW three-phase station — the alternative if your car has an 11 kW onboard charger and your contracted power is limited.
- 🔗 FoxESS DTSU666 meter — essential for activating dynamic load balancing: 5(80)A direct reading version, or 1.5(6)A with CT for higher currents.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my car really charge at 22 kW?
Only if the onboard charger is a 22 kW three-phase unit. Most electric cars on the market stop at 11 kW AC and some at 7.4 kW: in that case, the station automatically adapts to the vehicle's limit without damage or errors. Check your car's technical datasheet under "AC charging" before choosing between the 11 kW and 22 kW versions.
Is an external RCD needed if the station already has integrated protection?
Yes. The A022K integrates 6 mA DC residual current detection compliant with IEC 62955, but an upstream residual current device (RCD/RCCB) must still be installed according to local regulations; in Italy, given the internal DC protection, a Type A is permitted. Installation must be performed by qualified personnel according to IEC 60364 standards.
Which meter is needed for dynamic load balancing on a 22 kW unit?
A three-phase FoxESS meter connected via RS485: the DTSU666 5(80)A if the total system current stays below 80 A in direct reading, or the DTSU666 1.5(6)A with three CTs when currents are higher. The balancing threshold is set in the FoxSwitch app and must stay below the main breaker's rated current.
Can I charge using surplus solar power?
Yes, in Green mode the station absorbs only the excess solar energy and pauses charging when the surplus drops below 6 A; in Eco mode, charging continues at 6 A by supplementing from the grid. With a FoxESS inverter, the DTSU666 dual RS485 meter can be shared between the inverter and the station.

Changed your mind? Here's what to do
If you want to return your order, we're here to help. You have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of delivery, without having to provide any reason.
Right of withdrawal (within 14 days)
The deadline is 14 days from delivery. If the order includes multiple items delivered separately, the deadline starts from the delivery of the last item.
The 14 days are calculated in calendar days, including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. If the last day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday, the deadline is extended to the next working day.
How to exercise it: Initiate the request from the dedicated function in your account: https://account.oniroview.com → Orders section → "Manage" → "Request Return". The withdrawal is validly exercised at the moment you send the online request; it is not subject to our prior authorization.
- Return: You must send the products back within 14 days from the date you notified us of the withdrawal.
- Refund: We will refund you within 14 days of the withdrawal notification. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods or proof of their shipment, whichever occurs first.
- Full withdrawal (you return all products in the order): 100% refund of the price plus standard outbound shipping costs. If you chose a more expensive delivery than the standard one at the time of the order, any supplement is not refundable.
- Partial withdrawal (you return only some products): refund of the price of only the returned products; outbound shipping costs are not refunded. If the order benefited from free shipping due to reaching a threshold and the partial return causes the value to fall below that threshold, the corresponding shipping cost will be calculated and deducted from the refund.
- Return costs: The direct costs of return are borne by the customer.
- Diminution in value: You are only responsible for any diminution in the value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning. In such a case, we will deduct from the refund an amount corresponding to the ascertained lost value.
The refund will be made using the same payment method used for the purchase.
Exclusions from the right of withdrawal
Pursuant to Article 59 of the Consumer Code, withdrawal does not apply to:
- goods made to measure or clearly personalized (e.g., cables cut to size, custom configurations);
- sealed goods that are not suitable for return for hygienic reasons or health protection, if unsealed after delivery;
- digital content supplied on a non-material medium, if the performance has begun with your prior consent and acceptance of the loss of the right of withdrawal.
Outlet Items: Items in the Outlet category are sold as final sale and are not returnable.
