How to navigate the Power Supply section

Every application has its right device, and incorrect power supply is the primary cause of premature failures. Here are the four main families:

• 12V/24V switching power adapters — For LED strips, cameras, and low-voltage systems. Available in IP20 boxed version for indoor use and IP67 waterproof for outdoor use or 503 junction boxes. • UPS and uninterruptible power supplies — From 12V mini UPS with battery for modems, routers, and cameras (up to 4 hours autonomy) to line-interactive units from 600VA-3000VA for PCs, up to 6KW and 10KW online towers for servers and critical systems.
• USB-C GaN chargers — Gallium nitride technology allows for powers from 30W to 100W in dimensions 40% smaller than traditional chargers, with Power Delivery for notebooks, tablets, and smartphones.

Why power quality matters

A cheap power adapter without thermal and short-circuit protections doesn't just damage itself: it takes LED strips, cameras, and connected devices with it. The products in this section (Alpha Elettronica, ProPart, MKC, Autel) are equipped with protected and CE certified components, with stabilized voltage and low ripple.

Frequently asked questions about power supply

What is the difference between line-interactive and online UPS?
The line-interactive intervenes within a few milliseconds of a blackout and is perfect for PCs and modems. The online (double conversion) always powers the load from the battery, with zero transfer time: it is the mandatory choice for servers, NAS, and medical equipment.

Can I use a 12V IP20 power adapter outdoors?
No. For outdoor, junction boxes, or humid environments, at least IP67, fully potted, is required. IP20 is for dry indoor use.

Will a 100W GaN charger damage my smartphone?
No: the Power Delivery protocol automatically negotiates the power that the device accepts. The same charger safely charges notebooks at 100W and smartphones at 20W.
