HDMI Extender: what they are and how they work

HDMI Extenders are cables that allow us to transmit the HDMI video signal (in 4K), moving away from the output source.

A typical scenario is homes where multiple video displays are installed, connected to a single source that outputs the high-definition signal. The classic example is a Sky decoder that needs to send its signal to various TVs, computers, and screens installed in the house, even in different rooms.

Another typical situation is video signal distribution within a showroom, where several monitors are installed, displaying video information. And, we assure you, we could list many other cases you haven't even thought of yet.

Today, technology allows these types of cables to transmit the signal over long distances, up to tens of meters, depending on the type of device we choose to install and the need we need to solve, without losing quality and thus distributing the video signal to the destination displays.

Furthermore, this type of extender supports remote control of the remote signal, thanks to an infrared receiver and transmitter that allows LAN cables and the player to communicate, remotely controlling the device.

What does this mean? It means that, at any time and from any room, you can control your displays and comfortably watch whatever you want to appear on the screens, whether for work or to carve out a few minutes of relaxation and leisure.

There are many types of professional HDMI extenders, and here you will find the complete guide that illustrates the difference between one model and another and provides you with some tips to choose the one that best suits your needs.
