What is an HDMI splitter , and why can it really be useful in our homes? Here too, technology comes to our aid, with small devices that meet our needs.
The simplest example is an audio/video signal source, a computer or a game console, equipped with a single HDMI input port , but our intention is to create a connection to multiple monitors. An HDMI splitter is precisely that device that, through its output ports, can carry the same signal from one source to two or more screens for transmission.
Not all HDMI splitters work the same way, in fact on the market you will find a clear division between active HDMI splitters and passive HDMI splitters.
What's the difference? Active HDMI splitters, thanks to their power supply, can amplify the original signal, ensuring all monitors receive a strong, undegraded signal. Passive HDMI splitters, on the other hand, take the signal and split it across the different output ports. They're not powered by electricity and therefore don't add to your bill. However, if they don't have enough power to power all the displays they need, they can avoid having to pass the signal to additional screens.
Not all HDMI splitters are suitable for our needs, so in our Oniroview store on Via Piave we will explain which might be the best choice for you.
