Emergency lighting guide

Guida all’illuminazione di emergenza

The power, in any environment, can fail at any moment and, for safety reasons, the lighting of the spaces must be guaranteed, especially when it comes to public places or places with public access.

Obviously, in the event of a blackout , private homes must also be prepared for the possibility of being left in the dark, to avoid unpleasant accidents by looking for a way out. Especially in public places, there are regulations that must be respected for the installation of a compliant security system.

MANDATORY SAFETY LIGHTING
- In all workplaces
- In high risk environments
- In common areas of hotels with more than 25 rooms
- In nurseries
- In particularly tall buildings near doors and fire escapes
- In commercial activities that develop over a space of over 400 square meters
- In places where shows are held (arenas/theatres) to indicate escape routes
- In school buildings, including lecture halls and sports facilities
- In every room of a nursery

In safety lighting systems it is not only essential to use lamps that guarantee lighting even in the event of a blackout, but luminous signs also become essential, which for example allow you to highlight which escape routes are in a building.

Blackouts are not impossible. All it takes is a storm, an overload of the network, a fire.

Furthermore, according to European regulations , emergency lighting must: guarantee a brightness equal to at least double that of the moon in such a way that visibility is respected; signal and identify escape routes thanks to illuminated or backlit warning pictograms; it must not be dazzling; must be subjected to constant maintenance (the systems must be checked once a year).
